Definitions of a few things I have learned in being in the world of ESSENTIAL OILS.

Absolute: An essential oil extracted by a solvent. This is the least desirable method, but some EOs can only be extracted this way and for others it is the most cost effect solution. I have a vanilla absolute for diffusing.

Hydrosol: Also known as herbal distillates. It is an EO diluted in water such as with rose water or orange water.

Therapeutic Grade: Although commonly referred to by people that use different bands, it is a copy-righted term by DT. There is no independent or government group that regulates EOs.

Tonic: Often means soothing or used as a general all around health benefit.

Cordial: Invokes a warm feeling both emotionally and physically.
